Diatec Group last April signed the acquisition of Swiss based Star Coating AG, focused on production of media for Digital Imaging and light sensitive films for electronic industry. The new acquired is located in Niederhasli, North-West of Zuerich and one hundred Kilometers far from Bern, where Diatec already owns a modern plant (Sihl AG) specialized in Graphic Art and excellence center for vinyl, polymeric films and canvas. Geographic closeness and productive similarity between Sihl AG and Star Coating open important and progressive industrial integration, creating a very competitive and high-technology manufacturing pole. Important synergies are also expected with Sihl Gmbh, in Germany, main Diatec industrial plant and R&D site, and with Arkwright in the United States.    It’s important to underline that a significant portion of Star Coating market derives from productions and sales of light sensitive films for electronics, mainly printed circuit boards (PCB). This specific field is not strictly connected to Diatec core business, Digital Imaging, but enforces the mission of the group towards coating of flexible materials (“the coating company”), with well assorted potential markets. Star Coating will contribute to Diatec sales by mean of added 12 mln CHF, half of which realized on the Chinese market; employees counts 30 units. Diatec group is one of worldwide leader in production, converting and marketing of media for technical drawing, digital copying and printing of images with ink-jet and laser technology and all modern graphic applications. A very important division develops  industrial media for recording and identification purposes; finally, a dedicated business unit takes care of production and marketing of papers and high-density films for garment industry, and of hot-melt adhesive. Headquarter is in Cles; 850 people are employed inside 22 operative companies worldwide (more than 50 people involved in R&D; group strategic research is also supported by a dedicated company located in Trentino).
